A man in Indore was made to do sit ups for violating the lockdown and a video of the incident went viral. In a series of tweets, ANI reported that Indore’s security committee personnel stopped the man and made him do “squats” while he was “driving his luxury car Porsche amid lockdown.”

While commenting on the incident, Indore ASP told the news agency that “people who were out unnecessarily were being stopped”.

“Action has been taken as proper mask wasn’t being used by him [the man driving the car],” he further added.

The man identified as Sanskar Daryani told ANI that the incident happened when he was “returning home from company”.

“I showed them my pass but they verbally abused me and asked me to do sit-ups. I tried to talk to them but they didn’t listen. I then followed their orders. They filmed it, cracked jokes and then asked me to leave,” he added the incident has prompted several reactions on Twitter. While some said that the security personnel did the right thing, others pointed out that the driver shouldn’t be made fun of.“Driving luxury vehicles is not an excuse to escape punishment during lockdown. Kudos to the constable who ensured it,” wrote a Twitter user. “He was stopped because he was not covering his mouth, its mandatory in Indore,” expressed another. “That person behaved in a humble manner, let’s not laugh at him,” tweeted a third.

Gold prices up 40% in a year. Analysts' next target: ₹50,000 by year-end

From last year's Akshaya Tritiya to this years's Akshaya Tritiya, gold prices are up about 40% in a span of one year. And still analysts remain bullish on the yellow metal with some of them forecasting price prices to rise to about ₹50,000 per 10 gram by the end of this year, from the current level of about ₹46,500.

Nish Bhatt, founder and CEO of investment consulting firm Millwood Kane International, said: “Value of the yellow metal has risen over 40% in the last year alone. Gold acts as a hedge against inflation, and historically its value has appreciated during uncertain times, war, pandemic, or an economic slowdown. Since Gold is an international commodity priced in US dollar, any depreciation in rupee will lead to a further rise in prices of gold. "

We can expect gold prices to continue the rally, to settle above ₹5,000 a gram by the end of this financial year, primarily driven by the CoVid 19 crisis and its significant impact on the global economy."

Pankaj Bobade, Head of fundamental research at Axis Securities, said: "With the COVID-19 pandemic bringing the world economy to a standstill and a possible contraction ahead, gold seems an attractive option. Moreover, as the Central Banks of developed nations have been on easing spree to fight the economic contraction, the fiat currencies are expected to face pressure in the near future. In such a scenario, gold is likely to emerge as a safe-haven asset. Gold would be a good option from a long-term perspective."

Over the past one year, the coronavirus crisis, uncertainties like trade war between US and China, geo political tensions, dovish central bank actions have led led to many investors increasing bets for gold.

Navneet Damani, VP – Commodities Research, Motilal Oswal Financial Services, says" "Since we have seen such a good run up and liquidation in other assets classed, there could be bouts of correction in the near term. But the medium term picture still looks very promising and expect gold on the Comex to above $2000 and domestic gold prices could target upwards of ₹52,000 over the next 12 months. Coronavirus pandemic | Lockdown will continue post-May 3 in COVID-19 hotspots, PM Modi tells chief ministers

According to reports, PM Modi asked chief ministers to continue the lockdown in hotspots beyond May 3 and ease restrictions in non-hotspot areas.

During his interaction with chief ministers earlier on April 27 via video conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi indicated that the nationwide lockdown would continue beyond May 3 in some form, news reports suggest.

Earlier this month, PM Modi had announced that the nationwide lockdown, meant to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus would be in place till May 3. It was originally planned to be in place for 21 days, starting from March 25 till April 14.

According to News18, PM Modi on April 27 asked chief ministers to continue the lockdown in hotspots beyond May 3 and ease restrictions in non-hotspot areas.

During the meeting, Odisha and Meghalaya also suggested extending the lockdown period, reports suggest.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi conveyed to chief ministers that the country will have to give importance to the economy as well as to continue the fight against coronavirus.

"Prime Minister said that the country has seen two lockdowns till now, both different in certain aspects, and now we have to think of the way ahead. He said that as per experts, the impact of coronavirus will remain visible in the coming months," the statement added.

PM Modi also said that masks and face covers will become part of lives of people in the days ahead, adding everyone's aim must be to ensure rapid response under the current circumstances.

Among those present at the virtual meet, included Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and top officials from the PMO and the Union Health Ministry.

Chief ministers who attended the meeting included Uddhav Thackeray (Maharashtra), Arvind Kejriwal (Delhi), Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh), Edappadi K Palaniswami (Tamil Nadu), Conrad Sangma (Meghalaya) and Trivendra Singh Rawat (Uttarakhand).

Moreover, the account can be opened in any bank branch or post office payment bank outlet.

However, according to the rules, the guardian of the child will operate the account in the name of the child. An ATM is also issued in the name of the child. At the age of 18, after submitting an identity proof, the bank will be handed the account to the name of the real beneficiary.

Chahatt Khanna breaks silence on ‘quarantine love’ with Mika Singh

• Television actors  Chahatt told Bollywood Spy in a recent interview, “Logon ne mera dimaag kha liya hai (People are eating my head), literally. People are like, ‘Do not date him! Humara dil tod diya (You broke our heart)!’” She added that there is also a section of fans who think she looks good with him. “Today only, I was having a laugh with my friends about this,” she said.

Mika and Chahatt’s song Quarantine Love will soon be out and she said that they shot for the video at his house. “Humne ghar mein hi shoot kiya hai (We shot it at home only), we are next-door neighbours. Kanika -Kapoor’s family says she complained after doctors asked her to change into medical gown behind curtain, dismisses starry tantrums claim-

Kanika Kapoor was diagnosed with Covid-19 last month.

Ever since KANIKA KAPOOR was diagnosed with Covid-19 last month, she has been subjected to heavy criticism and trolling. She was first targeted for not self-quarantining after return from London and then for ‘throwing tantrums’ at the hospital.

Now, in an INTERVIEW with Indian Today, her family has revealed all about how and when she flew back, started feeling unwell, got her tests done and also what happened at the hospital. The family also addressed Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS)’s claims of her throwing ‘starry tantrums’ at the hospital. They said she complained when she was asked by the doctors to change into a medical gown behind a curtain in the hospital room as she did not feel comfortable. She also saw dirt in the quarantine ward and asked the hospital staff to clean it.

In an earlier interview to The Times of India, Kanika had said she was not given food or any medicine at the hospital. “I’ve been here since 11 am and all I’ve been given is a small bottle of water to drink. I’ve been asking these people to give me something to eat but I’ve only been given two small bananas and an orange that had flies on it. I am so hungry, I haven’t even taken the medicine that I was supposed to till now. I have fever, I’ve informed them, but no one has attended to me. The food I brought with me has been taken away. I can’t even eat anything that’s given to me as I am allergic to some foods. I am hungry, thirsty and I feel miserable here,” she had said.

“When I asked the doctor attending to me to have the room cleaned, he said to me that this was not a five star hotel where I should expect that kind of treatment. He said that the authorities are going to file an FIR against me for withholding information and not disclosing my illness. These are the kind of threats being given to me,” she added and said she was being ‘’ill-treated’ at the hospital.

Later, Dr RK Dhiman, the director of the hospital said the best of facilities are being provided to Kanika. “The hospital staff at her disposal is for a four-hour shift during which they cannot eat or drink because they wear anti-infection equipment. Every four hours one team is ‘donned off’ their gear and another shift takes over. The room is cleaned every four hours. Kanika Kapoor’s claims are all baseless,” Dr Dhiman told Ahmedabad Mirror. “Kanika Kapoor has been provided with the best that is possible in a hospital. She must co-operate as a patient and not throw tantrums of a star in Lucknow,” he added.

Kanika has tested positive for Covid-19 for the fifth time even though she is now asymptomatic of the disease. She will only be allowed to go back home when she tests negative.
